Subject: Spiritualist vs. spiritualist
Dr. Blake meets a mysterious young woman on a train to a summer resort, and they quickly become close. When he proclaims his love, however, she reveals that she is the protege of a famous clairvoyant, and must renounce romance in order to secure her powers. So naturally the good doctor hires a sham medium to infiltrate the household and expose the entire racket. A fascinating glimpse into the early 20th century obsession with spiritualism.
